澳洲Myer秋冬时装秀来袭 专访设计师Yeojin Bae
Myer是澳洲的一家著名百货公司，其分店遍布澳洲全国，于1900年由 Sidney Myer在维多利亚州的Bendigo创建。经过100多年的发展，Myer已经成为澳大利亚乃至大洋洲地区最受欢迎的百货零售巨头。Myer零售范围男装、女装及儿童服装，鞋靴，化妆品、香水; 家居用品、电子产品、床上用品等等。
Myer的时尚标签更来自于和许多名人的合作， 2004年环球小姐詹妮弗·霍金斯就是Myer长期合作的Myer大使（Face of Myer）。
2017年1月24日上午9点至10点，墨尔本柏客商业街（Bourke Street）Myer旗舰店中举行了墨尔本的模特选角，更是邀请了Myer的首席时装设计师Yeojin Bae（左二），创意总监Amanda Henderson（右一），Myer造型师Michael Azzollini（右二），以及 Myer 活动经理Luke Dean（左一）评委选拔此次模特。

模特选角结束之后，更是对Yeojin Bae这位韩裔设计师做了简单的采访。对于国人来说，很多著名澳洲本土设计师并不是大为人知。然而在澳洲这样一个能激发丰富艺术灵感的国度，有着一大批艺术造诣极高的本土设计师。Yeojin Bae就是这其中一名非常优秀的亚裔澳洲设计师。
Yeojin Bae经常会去美国、印度、亚洲、欧洲等地寻找各种面料和装饰物，以以汲取设计的灵感。强烈的色彩感和复杂的剪裁是Yeojin Bae的设计作品的最大亮点。你可以在澳洲的Myer商场，纽约的Barneys,伦敦的Matches，迪拜的Boutique One甚至整个中东和欧洲看到她的设计作品。
Myer AW 2017 Fashion Launch Model Casting - The Media Interview of Korean Australian fashion designer Yeojin Bae
As China in the northern hemisphere is celebrating the Spring Festival, Australia in the southern hemisphere is looking towards the new Autumn Winter trends soon to land in stores around the country. As the heat of summer passes by, Australian retailers are launching their Autumn and Winter 2017 collections showing the latest designs in spectacular fashion shows. First on the list is the Myer Autumn/Winter 2017 Fashion Launch, which will be held on the 16th February at the prestigious University of Melbourne.
Myer (stylised MYER), is an up market Australian department store, with stores all over Australia. It was founded by Sidney Myer in Bendigo, Victoria in 1900. Over the course of more than 100 years, Myer has grown to become the most popular department store in Australia and the entire Pacific region. Myer retails a broad range of products across women's, men's and children's clothing, footwear and accessories; cosmetics and fragrance; homewares; electrical; furniture and bedding; toys; books and stationery; food and confectionery; and travel goods.
Myer has a strong connection with celebrities. For example, the Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins is known as Face of Myer.
According to the tradition of the Fashion Launch, the organizers will hold model casting one or two months in advance. During this Myer Autumn/Winter 2017 Fashion Launch, Myer held 250 model casting auditions in Sydney and Melbourne. Amongst the 300 candidates from these auditions, Myer will choose 20 female models and 5 male models to walk in the Myer Autumn/Winter 2017 Fashion Launch on 16th February.
The Melbourne model casting audition was held at the Myer Melbourne flagship store on Bourke Street on 24th January 9:00am to 10:00am. Myer invited Yeojin Bae, Creative Designer of Yeojin Bae; Amanda Henderson, Creative Director of Gloss Creative; Michael Azzollini, Myer Fashion Launch Stylist; Luke Dean, Myer Events Manager as judges of the audition.
Australia is famous for its multiculturalism. The model candidates consist of people from diverse backgrounds. All with outstanding figure and appearance.
After the model casting, we had a brief media interview with the famous Australian Korean designer Yeojin Bae. The mixture of cultures in Australia inspires many distinctive and artistic designs. Yet, most of local Australia designer are not well known in the Chinese market. Yeojin Bae is one of these talented designers.
Yeojin Bae often travels to U.S, Asia and Europe to find special fabric to draw inspiration. One of the highlights of her collections is the involvement of vintage prints, strong colours and intricate trims. The Melbourne-based designer secured notable accounts with an enviable list of stockists worldwide, such as Myer in Australia, Barneys in New York, Liberty and Matches in London, and Boutique One in Dubai.
During the interview, Yeojin Bae said, “I do a lot of dresses and now I actually manufacture everything in Australia, so all Australian made, and I designed here locally in Australia. I love colour and I love tailoring, and I do a lot of dresses and tuxedos for women to wear when they go to a cocktail party or engagement party, so it’s very much event dressing when there’s something special to celebrate.”
Yeojin also comments on her work towards the China market and Chinese customer. “I think my brand has a good synergy with the Asian market because being an Asian designer I very much design with the fit and silhouette that suits the Asian figure. My sizing seems to work very well for our Asian clientele. In fact, we dress a lot of Asian and Chinese women here in Australia, so I think I have a very good synergy to it and I think we’re very close, in terms of Australia and China. It would be great to explore the market.”
